How I Know

So in Relief Society today we had a lesson on how do you know what you know. We were talking about our testimonies and how we gain them. I thought about sharing but thought it might be too personal but then I thought I should have shared so I am sharing with you.

So I know the gospel is true because it just makes sense in my head. I have lived a life with out the gospel and my life is so much better with the gospel in my life. When I attend my church meetings and do the things I am supposed to my week goes so much better and I am way happier. If that is not doing what the Lord wants of you and Him showing His appreciation I don't know what more you want as proof.

I am also very lucky to have had the feeling deep down inside me that I know that the church is true and that there is nothing that anyone can do to change that. I have felt His arms wrap around me when I needed comfort and I can't forget that feeling of love that I feel more often then not and I feel that I am very lucky that I have had the opportunity to feel that love every day of my life.

Here is the last reason I know and you might say that this was just a dream but I think it is a memory that I have and that I am fortunate enough to have this memory. You can make your own decision about the experience but I think that is a memory because I look different in the memory than in any other memory that I have if that makes sense.

So I have this memory where I am walking and talking with 2 people and discussing things. I don't remember all of what we talk about but I do remember that we discuss the gospel and how it will work. I remember asking to be in a family that has the gospel because it will be lots of fun. I know that I was talking with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and it was before I came to earth.

I think that I was privileged to keep this memory because of some of the hard things that happened in my life. For example it is my memory of what a father should be and I have not really had an earthly father so he allowed me to have that memory.

Those 3 things is how I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true and how I know that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father live and love us. How I know that Christ lived and died for us and that the Atonement is an amazing blessing that we are allowed to use as often as we need. How I know that President Monson is the His prophet on the earth today. How I know that every Bishop, Stake President, or any calling that I have had where because the Lord knew what I needed and called people who can help me and have placed me in positions to help other people. How I know that the Priesthood is the authority to use God's power here on this earth to bless so we can get better when we are sick, or give us direction when we need to know where to go. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love each and everyone of us. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was the prophet to restore the gospel and translate the Book of Mormon. I am nothing without this knowledge.
